Tips for writing a strong proposal:

  • Be sure to complete all components of the application.

  • State the goals and objectives clearly.

  • State which of the recommendations from CAPHE’s Public Health Action Plan are addressed by your proposals. If none of the recommendations match with your proposal, please spell out clearly why your proposal is important to improve air quality in your community.

  • Be creative in your approach to improving air quality.

  • Demonstrate leadership by community members.

  • State clearly how the project benefits communities that are most affected by air pollution.

  • Be sure the budget’s line items match the project goals and objectives.

  • Spell out a clear plan for evaluating the success of the project.

A project from 2023 – a learning center installed a vegetative buffer along a road to protect a childrens’ outdoor play area during busy traffic hours.
