Hi everyone, I have been with CAPHE since May 2020. I have over 30 years of professional experience in the realms of public health, criminal justice, community reform, and public transportation, I’ve dedicated my entire career to making a difference in communities where I work and live. Before I joined CAPHE, I worked for Michigan Medicine in the Michigan Opioid Engagement Network. My educational background includes a BA from Iowa State University. In my free time I enjoy camping and hiking with my partner Tim and our chocolate lab Molly.

Hello! I’m Morgan. I have been working with CAPHE since May 2024. I received my undergraduate degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan in 2020. I am passionate about environmental justice and I aim to use my experience in organizing to strengthen community partnerships and spread awareness about environmental health impacts. In my free time, I enjoy taking dance classes, singing jazz at local jams, and practicing meditation.

Hello! I’ve been working in the public health space since 2016 when I began my position with Michigan Medicine’s Patient Education and Health Literacy Program as a Plain Language Writer and Resources Coordinator. In that position I worked on partnering with clinicians to create patient education materials in plain language with the goal of linking patients and providers as equal members in healthcare. I also managed the publishing process and clearinghouse database for all the health system’s patient education and partnered with the electronic medical records team to upload the materials and troubleshoot corrections and updates. My position also involved participating in committees, internal policy, compliance, and presenting new materials, policies, initiatives relevant to patient education. I served as interim-lead of the program until Fall of 2022 when I started my Master’s of Health Behavior and Health Education (Public Health). I completed that degree while working short-term at the Institute for Social Research with Dr. Noah Webster on a pilot study for the National Institute of Aging, and here at Community Action to Promote Healthy Environments where I can now be found researching air pollution-related topics. In my free time, I am usually weightlifting, playing outside, recovering from grad school, or snuggling dogs!

Hi! I’m Aresha (ah-REE-sha). I got my Masters in Public Health in the heart of Atlanta at Georgia State University in 2020, and shortly after moved to beautiful Michigan. I manage the Take Action on Air Quality mini grants, and work on creating fact sheets and other educational materials, such as the EHRA Foundations curriculum. I also run our social media and manage this website! I’m passionate about health equity and believe that strong communities form the best foundation for public health. When I’m not working, I love hanging out with my family, traveling, and spending time outside.
