Bryan Smigielski

As a lifelong environmental activist, systems theorist, and educator, Bryan Smigielski blends hands-on activism with theoretical insight. As a Campaign Organizer with Sierra Club in Detroit, Bryan leads initiatives to combat climate change, promote environmental justice, and support clean transportation. From 2018 to 2021, Bryan delivered hundreds of interactive presentations to Detroit-area youth, educating over 30,000 students on the systemic causes of environmental issues and inspiring environmental activism. Bryan’s organizing work aims to transform climate despair into systemic change. Together with his partner Megan, Bryan helps maintain an herbal garden within the Detroit Abloom community garden space, where they craft medicinal plant remedies to support and share with the community.
